The NSW Department of Education has proposed to reclassify Russell Lea Infants' School (K-2) to a primary school (K-6) to accommodate the growing number of families in the Canada Bay area.
The proposed transition from an infants to a primary school will take place over three years, with Year 3 being enrolled from 2016 and additional grades will follow in yearly increments through to 2019: K-4 in 2017; K-5 in 2018 and K-6 in 2019.
Following consultation with the school community in May this year, the NSW Department of Education is now consulting with the broader community to seek further feedback.
Kathy Jones & Associates (KJA) are project managers of this four week consultation period currently underway with the broader community. This consultation will inform the proposed transition plan, understand matters raised by the community, identify opportunities and establish a communication strategy as part of the transition.
