About our school

Five Dock Public School, which celebrated its 150th year in 2011, is a vibrant and friendly school community set in quiet and leafy grounds. Our quality teaching and learning programs and well-resourced facilities support all children to achieve their best. Our core values are reflected every day in our school community; these values - respect, participate, belong, achieve - foster an understanding of and respect for individual differences. We have a dedicated and enthusiastic team of teachers supported by strong and positive parent engagement. We are an inclusive and supportive school which embraces diversity, with close ties to the local community. In addition to a strong focus on the core curriculum areas of literacy and numeracy, we have a lively program of technology, arts, language and sport. Events throughout the year such as Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day Breakfasts, our Easter Hat Parade, Grandparents' Day, and the Book Week Parade provide an opportunity for the broader community to participate in the life of our school.
